What We Think
The Chevrolet Cruze has become one of the best-selling small cars in the country, and for 2012 it shows no signs of slowing down.
For 2012, the best-selling Chevrolet Cruze continues to reap praise for its comfortable, quiet interior and good fuel economy. Two four-cylinder engines are available, both returning more than 35 mpg on the highway. Horsepower is modest, at 138 hp for both engines, but Cruze has a light curb weight that helps make the most of the small engine. A six-speed manual transmission is offered; a six-speed automatic is optional.
In Eco trim, the Chevy Cruze adds a unique front bumper, low-rolling-resistance tires and 17-inch polished wheels. The Connectivity Plus Cruise package adds cruise control, Bluetooth for phone, a USB port in center console, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel. The Driver Convenience package includes a six-way power seat adjuster with manual recliner, rear parking sensors and a remote vehicle-starter system.
