Chevrolet Silverado 1500

What We Think

General Motors built its first full-sized truck in the 1930s, so it knows whereof it speaks in this category. And indeed, the Silverado has been fighting it out with Ford’s F-150 as the best-selling vehicle in the United States for years, so GM must be doing something right. Chevrolet says its Silverado is the industry’s most capable truck--and one of the most efficient. Silverados come in various body styles and trim options, with powertrains capable of trailering up to 10,700 pounds. The Silverado hybrid offers a 25 percent improvement in fuel economy but can still tow a respectable 6,200-pounds.
