What We Think
The Kia Rio is a mid-pack compact-car entry that does everything OK but nothing really well.
The 2010 Kia Rio comes in four- or five-door trim, with a 110-hp, four-cylinder engine. A five-speed manual is standard; a four-speed automatic is optional. Highway fuel economy is rated at 34 mpg with the manual transmission and 36 mpg with the automatic. Every Kia Rio comes with body-color outside mirrors, tinted glass, satellite radio connection, Bluetooth, an eight-way driver?s seat with height adjustment, and cloth seat trim. The upgraded SX model has 16-inch wheels, front fog lamps, chrome exhaust and unique sport seats. The Value package, which is included on the SX model, adds cruise control, power windows, power door locks with keyless entry remote, power heated mirrors with integrated turn-signal indicators, tweeter speakers and steering-wheel-mounted cruise controls. Cargo space in the Rio 5 is nearly 50 cubic feet with the seats folded down.
