What We Think
This is a solid luxury contender, and if you go with the Ecoboost V6, it's a good performer.
The 2011 Lincoln MKS comes with two engine choices. The 3.7-liter V6 is standard, while a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is optional. Fuel economy ranges from 16 mpg in the city to 24 mpg on the highway with the 3.7-liter and from 17 mpg to 25 mpg with the turbocharged engine. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but all-wheel drive is available. All MKS models get automatic transmissions as standard equipment. HD radio is included in the Navigation package, as are satellite traffic, surround-sound speakers and a rearview camera. The MKS adds ambient lighting, keyless entry and parking sensors as standard equipment.

The Ecoboost option injects the otherwise staid MKS with a wide band of legitimacy
msrp $48,390- A Ford Taurus kicked up a notch
- Standard all-wheel drive isn't necessary--the base MKS is front-wheel drive--but does a decent job metering the 355 hp to all corners
- Techy interior looks good but doesn't have quite the quality of other Lincolns
